The Department of Cardiology is newly built and equipped with the state of the art equipment’s. The department provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to the patients with Cardiovascular diseases under the able Leadership of Prof. Dr. Syed Ishtiaq Rasool. The Department is equipped with a five bed coronary Care Unit (CCU) for patients requiring intensive care and cardiac monitoring. A designated cardiology ward is present for the management of in hospital patients. A full time cardiologist is available throughout the week in cardiology outpatient clinics. Non-Invasive diagnostic services include exercise tolerance test (ETT), transthoracic echocardiography and stress echocardiography. Coronary CT angiography is also available for the assessment of Heart chambers and coronary vessels in order to diagnose coronary and Valvular heart diseases and as well as congenital defects.
